意思是廉价的、便宜的

但用cheap来形容人

今天我们重新认识一下cheap这个词吧！

dirt cheap

cheap最常用的意思就是便宜的。非常便宜除了说very cheap，还可以用dirt cheap表示。还可以用cheap as chips表示很便宜。

还有比较常用的修饰cheap的词是relatively，relatively cheap表示相对便宜、比较划算。

This coat was dirt cheap.

这件外套非常便宜。

The equipment is relatively cheap and simple to use.

这台仪器比较便宜，操作简单。

cheap and nasty

cheap表示便宜，有时候有质量不好的意思，low in price and quality。cheap and nasty就是指劣质低廉的。

它的反义词cheap and cheerful是物美价廉（英式）的意思。

而cheap imitation就表示山寨货、廉价仿制品。

I don't like plastic shoes. They always seem cheap and nasty.

我不喜欢塑胶鞋，总是看上去便宜又劣质。

当cheap形容人时，可以表示抠门的、小气的，相当于not generous，这是美式表达，在英式英语里是用mean表示。

cheap guy、cheapskate都可以表示小气鬼、吝啬鬼的意思。

她抠门到不愿意打车去。

Charles is a cheap guy! He wanted me to buy him lunch.

查理是个吝啬鬼，他想要我请他吃午饭。

cheap shot

cheap可以表示不友好的、不和善的，英文解释是show a lack of honesty, moral principles, or sincere feeling，缺乏诚实、道义、真诚等的情感，不值得尊重。

cheap shot意思就是下流手段、恶意中伤。

That was a cheap shot. You know it isn't true.

那是恶意中伤。你知道那不是真的。
